A SYNOPSIS OF THE HISTORY OF AMERICAN CIVILIZATION as the title indicates, is a compact and simplified form of the American History and Civilization, providing historical and intellectual materials towards a fuller understanding of American culture in the twentieth century. By its form and content, it is also intended as a textbook or reference manual for both high school and undergraduate students and teachers in American History and Civilization courses; whereas the general reader may consider it as his/her window on the New World.
